how to make patterns on website?

i try on my laptop to make different patterns but i dont understand how to change the look of the pattern so that its not just diagonal stripes and i change the knots up but it doesnt do anything

When using the interactive normal generator, you have to click "save" for the changes to be saved when going back to the regular generator.
