I’ve started my first alpha and am halfway done with it but I’m not happy with how I had to start it because with it being and even amount of bar strings and then with the leading string I can’t start the teardrop loop as I usually would with there being two triangles coming out of each side of the loop and then connecting. I’m confused because I’ve seen people do it, for example with the cow bracelet Sodapop makes it has 13 strings (12 base 1 lead) and people are able to start it like normal without changing the pattern what do I do?

i personally find it easiest to add an extra string at the start so that it’s even and then leave it out and cut it off after i get to the actual pattern part if that makes sense

Hey! I've never actually found a solution to make a teardrop loop with uneven string, and I think that what @Treehouse said could actually help you a lot. But if it's too complicated, I personally prefer to start my bracelet that have an uneven amount of strings with the half triangle end. You can find many tutorials on YouTube with this technique, and it's honestly one of the easiest way to start a bracelet with uneven and even amount of string, and It's still pretty in the end

If you have 12 base strings, you can make a teardrop loop like you would with a normal pattern and after you did the triangle ends, you just take a new string as the leading string and knot with it row by row like usual.
