alpha knots

i don't really know how to explain it, but I keep seeing alpha knots being a straight line like this , l while mine look more like this , \ and it makes my edge of a design less straight and clean how can i fix that ?

So are the sides of your alpha pulling in? If that’s the case, it probably means your knots aren’t having equal tension. I find the straight edge technique helps as well. If you’re talking about the horizontal lines though, I used to have that problem too. I’d say that has a lot to do with equal knot tension as well, but you could also be using different types of thread which could lead to the knots being different sizes. I like to use all the same brand of thread, focus on knot tension, and I’ll use my nails to push the row higher up once I finish that row. I think what you mean is that your individual knots are slightly slanted rather than being straight vertically, right? My knots do the same thing although it's never cause me issues with the edges of my bracelet.

Like kaliciorn mentioned, I would recommend trying the straight edge technique where you do a backward-forward knot on the first string on the left and a forward-backward knot on the last string on the right, Masha knots has a tutorial for this that you might find helpful

You have to do forward backward or backward forward knots for a straight edge!

@kaliciorn Thank you i think you are right about the knot tension i’ll try to work on it a bit more and do the straight edge technique now 💛
