my knots are….long?

ive made some alphas that are supposed to pictures of something but it always comes out stretched vertically because the knots arent squares? idk if that makes sense butni need help my alphas look so stretched out

This is a pretty common issue. To avoid this you could use thicker base strings, make the knots less tight, push the rows up after knotting them. I recommend just playing around a bit to see what works for you.

Hi! I sometimes remove 1 row from repeating rows in an alpha pattern and this helps to even it out. I also recommend designing the pattern to be wider than it is long so that it evens out. Hope that this helps!
