i use DMC cotton perlé size since i get so much string but i notice the further i get on a bracelet or pattern, the more the edges fray. ive never waxed my strings so i. just curious if anyone does and/or if theyd recommend it

I’ve waxed my own string a couple of times and I’ve found it just catches and is too heavy, but I might’ve waxed it too much. You could put a bit of wax only on the end to precedent fraying though

I’ve tried using wax but it’s a little tricky to get it right, so I’ve found im better off without it. You can try taping the ends of each string so it doesn’t fray as much though!

I've never tried waxing my strings before but what I've found to be useful to stop fraying is just tying a small knot at the end of each string.
