how to keep strings in place and organised?

Hey. First for the bracelet, tried taping it, keeps sliding and rotating. The second thing is that my string sticks together and i forget how they were laid out and its all a mess. Any tips? I know u can buy these plates that hold them up. But what about huge project with a lot of strings. Any diys?

@halboAngel hi, there's a tutorial of @La_Loca , but you need a lot of stuff for that. I often use a paper clip which I put on a cushion, that also works fine

Using a safety pin to attach it to a cushion or pillow works, or you can use a binder clip and a thin, hardcover book. Personally I just leave my strings as is because I perfer segment knotting (Masha Knots has an amazing tutorial on youtube) but to me it sounds like you are doing a row by row method which I dont really know much about (sorry)

If you fold one piece of tape so it is sticky on top and bottom, lay the strings out on it and then put another piece of tape on top, it is a lot more secure than just a tape on top.

Like someone else mentioned binder clips and a book are a very good replacement for a clipboard. I even find this method better than an actual clipboard because the binder clips are stronger than the clip of a clipboard.

Personally i use a wooden game case, something like a chess set. It sounds kinda dumb but it holds the string surprisingly well.
