Would it look weird? Also where do you guys buy your floss? Thank you!

The main issue with mixing different types of string is the thickness. If one of the types is thinner than the other, the bracelet might turn out a bit wonky, specially with alphas. But if both of the strings are of the same thickness, there shouldn't be any problem mixing them (:

^ def the thickness is the issue. if you find that your threads are roughly the same, it’ll be fine. i’ve mixed every string type under the sun and they turn out okay. i also have never done alphas which may need you to have the same stuff but with normals it doesn’t matter

You can mix textures and thicknesses but the thicker strings will maybe create bumps and an uneven bracelet

For normal patterns I would say go for it. In my experiance it doesn't look weird at all. However for an alpha you should choose one of the kinds for the leading thread but you could mix them for the base threads. Hope that made sense. Also I normally get my thread from Micheals or Joanns or you can find packs of many colors on Amazon.
