Is it okay for your base strings to be crochet strings and your working strings to be embroidery string?

perfectly fine!! it helps with stability as well - sometimes I double up on my 1st and last strings to keep the edges sturdy😊

yea!! i use thin crochet thread for all my base strings cuz it’s sturdy, and cheaper than embroidery floss

Just make sure all base strings are crochet and all working are embroidery and it will be fine 🙂
