Is there a way to stop fuzzies hanging off the bracelet from the thread?

A lot of my bracelets have fuzzies hanging off the edges of the bracelet after I make them. Is there a way to stop that? Like am I pulling the knots too tight or do I need a different thread?

It doesn’t bother me too much, if I see some I will trim the fuzzies off with some scissors, but I was just wondering if there was a way to stop that. Please help if you know how to stop or reduce fuzzies!

Maybe, I use DMC string. For the white color I use Loops & Threads string. Maybe the mixing of the two different brands makes there be more fuzzies sticking out but idk

Try Alize yarns, they are better i think.

This is her really caused by the friction of two strings rubbing together as you tie the strings. There’s a couple things that can mitigate it. 1. Knot closer to your work so that the pull and friction spreads over a smaller space. If you’re pulling over the entire length of string, by the end of your bracelet it’s going to look rough. 2. Knot looser, if you’re a tight knotter this increases the friction, tying looser can help. 3. String quality can also contribute to this but DMC generally isn’t bad for it nor Loops and Threads too terrible but high levels of friction can cause it on any string.

I also think some fuzzies can also occur because of the way your knotting sometimes the thread can rub on each other and make little fuzzies so my opinion would be trying new thread or just cutting them off as best you can!!! ❤️

@Margaron oh I think that’s the problem. I start like half way down the string when knotting. I don’t knot it very close. Thank you for the tips! I will see if it helps reduce fuzz.

@shae_coolk thank you!! i try to cut the strings off but I am scared to get close to the bracelet because I don’t want to cut it 🥲 What thread do you recommend? I am currently using DMC thread.
