First I like to lay all of the strings out neatly, like ||||||, in my preferred order. Then carefully wrap them around my finger (keeping them neat and in the preferred order as I wrap), then tie the knot. After you tie the knot, the strings are going to be squished together, and it might seem like they're in the wrong order/spot, but they're not. They're still in the right order, but the knot makes everything curve/become squished. They become a circle of strings instead of a straight line of strings (the first and last strings will be close to each other). You'll be able to easily adjust everything back to how you want it by pulling the strings away from each other a little bit. It will be easiest if you start by pulling the first and last strings away from each other, out toward the sides where they belong. Then just continue doing that with the next strings (they should be the second & second to last strings of your preferred order), working toward the middle, pulling each pair of strings a little bit less.I don't really know if there's a better way to do this, but it works for me. When you make the knot, it's pretty much inevitable that you'll have to adjust the strings at least a little bit. The knot is going to make everything get squished together, and it's hard/impossible to make everything squish in exactly the right way. As long as they're in the right order when you tie the knot, it shouldn't be too bad/too hard to adjust them a little bit. Good luck! |
