Hi, I'm pretty new to making alpha bracelets, and I'm okay at it. However, a lot of my bracelets turn out stretched-looking, because the knots aren't perfect squares (longer than they are wide). I've tried pushing my rows closer together but that doesn't help much, and other people's bracelets that I see don't really have this problem. Does anybody have any tips?

@broobiedoo hi, I'm sorry I can't help you because I have the same problem, but for me, it's not a that big problem and I think it happens to others too

I would say try and use the same size and brand of thread if you arent already, sometimes it can mess up the alpha. I would also recommend knotting tighter. Make sure you aren't pulling down on any of the strings as well if that makes sense.

what really helped me was using double base strings which makes the knots wider so it balances it out

Definitely try to use the same thread thickness, and don’t pull your knots too tight. I find that very tight knots tend to look wonky if you’re not careful, so keep it looser. Using the straight edge technique is also helpful for that. If you haven’t learned it, Masha Knots has a great YouTube video on it. Her username is @Racoon I think 👍
