My alpha bracelet looks distorted

Hi, I'm pretty new to making alpha bracelets, and I'm okay at it. However, a lot of my bracelets turn out stretched-looking, because the knots aren't perfect squares (longer than they are wide). I've tried pushing my rows closer together but that doesn't help much, and other people's bracelets that I see don't really have this problem. Does anybody have any tips?

Hey! I have experienced this problem too, one way to fix this would be to knot tighter, as well as push the rows close together after each new row. Unfortunately, this will always happen to an extent (no way that I've tried gets the knots to be square) but I've found that this method helps minimize the problem

I would definitely recommend tying your knots tighter i used to have this same problem and that really helped me! I hope this helps 🐒
