I have been trying to figure out how to keep my alpha edges straight. I use the fb/bf technique for the sides, but whenever I make a shape or letter, the bracelet bulges out any doesn't stay straight. My alphas always become wavy and don't look neat at all. Any tips?

And also it’s kind of weird to put in words but when I change colors I make sure it is not pushing the other color before it up creating a bump or the knot disappears •••• if you have a bump then there is not enough string between the previous knot of that color and your new one so you want to give more slack in that string •••••••••••••••••• if the knot is disappearing then I just pull the bass string up - hope this helps

I had this problem when I started making alphas as well and the thing that is starting to help with mine is not tying the strings too tight. At first I tried tying the knots tighter and it usually made things worse so making the knots not as tight has made my edges straighter. Another thing is making sure the strings are relatively the same thickness. If one string is a different thickness than the others it can make the edges bulge as well.
