how to add a variation

i dont know how to make a variation i click on add varitation and change up the colors but it only gives me the choice to add it as a pattern?

You should click the button called “submit to site” so that it gets reviewed then becomes accessible on the site :]

The site automatically registers it as a variation so there’s no extra buttons or anything :]

Sorry for bothering as this doesn’t fit into this criteria exactly but someone has made a variation of my pattern only dulling 2 of the colours and the pattern looks the exact same, is there any way I can get rid of her variation?
