Hi! So I'm struggling with figuring out how long my strings need to be. Right now I'm trying to cut strings for #96062 but am not sure how long to make them. Any tips are appreciated! 🙂 🙂

I make my strings about my arm span so I hold one end, stretch it between my arms and then cut it

Most bracelet string should be 36 inches long. It also depends on your preference. There are a couple of things to consider when cutting your strings.
1. The pattern
If you see a pattern that uses a lot of one color you will need to cut more of that string compared to the rest and if there is less of a color being used cut less
2. The start and the ties
If you plan on making a loop you will need to cut more string for the color you used to make the loop. If you make ties you’ll need to have enough string for the ties. If you like shirt ties then don’t cut longer string, if you like longer ties cut your strings longer

But if you don’t really want to do that you can just cut your string extremely long and save the scraps. You could do wingspan length or more. I usually cut my strings 36 inches long + the loop and ties. :]

I tend to measure my wing span, add another 10 cm or so to the end, then fold it in half to make two strings. However the more strings total the longer the strings need to be, so I just kinda eyeball the length, but NEVER smaller than my wingspan for two strings

a pretty safe bet it to cut them at a wingspans length for normal patterns
