what size wooden dowel should I use for wall hangings

I have been wanting to make a wall hanging, but I am new and do not know what size to use. Does anybody have any recommendations on what sized dowel to use?

i personally don't think the size of the dowel matters, and it varies on the aesthetic you are going for.

It would also depend on the size of your wallhanging. If you’re making something that’s kinda palm sized, disposable wooden chopsticks would suffice. Anything smaller could probably use toothpicks. The thickness of your dowel will probably only really matter when you’re looking at something more to the size of a placemat or larger.
