so im making a keychain for a pattern that has a shadow but im making it without the shadow. should i put it on the pattern that im using as a referece even though its not the same? my friend has done this before and when they asked the creator of the pattern if they could make the pattern without the shaddow or if they could they got a very harsh no. any ideas of what i should do?

Just post it to the pattern with the shadow. It is similar enough, so the photo should get accepted. A pattern without a shadow would most likely be too similar to the pattern with a shadow and wouldn't get accepted for that reason. Apart from that, other people indeed don't "owe" you to make patterns for you. |

@halokiwi I never said just they “owed” me. I’m just saying that my friend asked them if she or they could make a new pattern for it because she wasn’t sure if the photo would be accepted.

That's why I put "owe" in quotation marks 🙂 I'm not sure how your friend asked or what exactly the reply was. Some people are very happy to make patterns for others or give them the permission to make the patterns themselves, but there are others who are not as happy to do so. Both is completely reasonable.
