Should I iron bracelet right away or should I put baking paper over it and than iron the bracelet??

I heard from other people that it’s better to put something between the bracelet and the ironer so you don’t burn the bracelet or ruin it accidentally.

I usually use a heavy book or something and put the bracelet under for a couple or hours and it ends up straight and flat.
