How long to make strings?

Hey, I am trying to make pattern #27780 I have no idea how long to make the strings. Can anyone help me?Thanks! |

It depends on how long you are making the bracelet but if theres an even number of all the colors, I usually just measure from fingertip to fingertip and then fold it in half. If im doing singular strings then i just measure from about one fingertip of an outstretched arm to the center of my body and add a couple of inches. You might also want to make the gray strings a bit longer since they seem to be used more. I would also make one longer (a couple inches normally works) if i was going to be using it for a loop. The most important thing, however, is to not make them too short. It a lot easy to cut off excess string than it is to add more, and that extra string can be used for other bracelets as well. I have seen 30-40 inches or 60-70 inches folded in half being recommended for most normal patterns if you need more specific measurements. make sure to leave some string for ties as well. I normally cut each of my strings about 1 metre long. Hope this helps!

I would use about a wingspand length but I do cut my string really long so....🙂 |
