How to make a loop without two strings per colour?

I usually do loops to start my bracelets, but I want to make a bracelet where there is only 1 string for a colour. Normally I make one long string then fold it in half to make two strings to knot with, but that obviously doesn’t work in this case. Is there still a way in which I can do a loop? Or should i just start with a plait then go from there?

When this happens to me, I just gently take apart and separate one long string into two (most strings are built that way that the string itself is simply few thin strings that are compressed together). Now we got two halves of a string, hence, I then take one half, fold it in half (so we can do the loop like we said), and we get again two halves of a string, that create one full string, but this time with a loop. Now, when knotting the bracelet just consider the two halves as one. What I mean is to just knot on/with them both at the same time as they were one.
Hope I could help and my explanation was clear enough, let me know if it wasn't and ill happily explain it again !🙂
