where can I buy strings?

so at the moment I m using some cheap strings from amazon. I bought 150 colors and each is 5 meters long. But I would like to have some longer ones and specific colours.

@carliemay I buy specific colored strings at Michael’s and Hobby Lobby. I am pretty sure the brand is DMC, and they are pretty long! It’s also great quality too

i like to buy embroidery kits because they have so many colors and they are on the bobbles. i think the string i pretty good quality normally so it works out well. if you want to pick the colours i suggest micheals because they have a ton of colors to choose from

Micheals is always great but, hobby lobby and joanes have great things as well also you can buy string on those sites to get delivered to if you don't have a store nearby 🙂

@carliemay I use the walmart brand because its cheap but decent quality but its more soft. If you want silkier thread I suggest dmc but I dont use it because sometimes the silky texture makes it harder to see the design. If you can find a decent brand at a craft store like Michaels then I would try to find one that numbers their colors because that helps a lot.

I go to my local Michaels or art store. They usually have individual skeins or packs that you can buy. I normally get the DMC threads that are around 55 cents per skein and 8 meters long/8.7 yards. I prefer to buy individual colors because I can pick and choose which ones I want or need as and when I need them.

Amazon is a great place for strings. I always recommend going to the reviews and changing it so you see the most recent review. A lot of products on amazon have been on there for years and the product may have changed quality or a problem is fixed, so always read the most recent! Look for reviews for those that make friendship bracelets versus those that do embroidery. Another good place is walmart! They have packs of embroidery floss in a lot of amazing colors and even have tie dye and variegated threads. They also sell a small selection of single skeins by DMC. Hobby Lobby, Michaels and Jo Anns is also good because they have a larger selection of single skeins and always have sales or coupons!
