alpha base string lengths

heyy i really want to start making alpha bracelets but im not sure how long the base strings i cut should be? i just dont want to over or underestimate ://thanks |

@kasia_lis If you are folding the string in half then from fingertip to fingertip. If you are just doing single strands then from fingertip to the middle of your chest. Hope this helps!onaipdance |

@onaipdance the question was about alpha base strings. You seem to have answered the string length for normals.Base strings in alphas need to be the length of the bracelet plus some extra for loops and ties. So if you want to make a bracelet, take the circumference of your wrist and then maybe 20 more cm for loops and ties etc. |

think about the length of the pattern, irl, then add some more string for the loop and ties, then add a little more to be safe 🙂

If you’re not knotting with the base strings (yes, there are alpha making techniques which knot using the bass strings), the suggested length by @halokiwi works fine. If you are, then follow @onaipdance’s suggestion.
