So I've made about 10 bracelets now and ive gotten better but the edges are still wavy. My knots are always loose and consistent until i start adding colors and no matter how hard I try they still aren't completely straight. Its not a super big deal but sometimes it makes the bracelet bumpy and I can't stand that. Is there anything else I can do? (I use flat alpha and straight edges techniques)

It may be due to either (1) the direction in which you pull your strings when you knot (try pulling upwards rather than to the side) or (2) because you knot more than half an inch away from your clip/however you secure your project to your work surface.

It’s hard to tell what the problem is because you don’t have any pics of your bracelets but I’ll give you my best tips!1: if your knots are inconsistent, try tying the first knot in one knot really tight, and then tie the second knot in one knot to however tight it is in the knot before it. Try to get the knot the the same place, and make sure you push the string all the way up when you tie your knots. 2: use the straight edge technique (bf and fb knots on both sides at the end of each row) from MashaKnots on YouTube. Her BB account is @Racoon, so you should be able to find her there. Good luck! |
