Sorry if this is a dumb/repeated question, but I haven't found an answer yet. I'm used to splitting my floss into two strands at a time when I cross stitch, so I did that on my first bracelet and it worked, but seemed pretty thin. Is it typical to just use the floss as is, without splitting it?Thanks in advance! 🙂 |

Generally, no, you don’t split strings when making bracelets. There are a few reasons as to why you would, but that’s usually for more advanced techniques. It’s not “wrong” to split strings, it’s just going to produce a thinner bracelet and the strings are easier to snap while knotting

i dont really see bracelets like that. i do remember there was one user who made tiny bracelets for like a doll house with two strands from the 6 strand floss and my mom said that she used to make them w 2 strands as well but usually i don’t believe you do

I wouldn't split the embroidery floss in half, because then it would probably snap a lot when you are knotting the bracelet.

Thanks, everyone! I tried using all six strands and it was way, way easier and went by so much faster! 👍
