I'm planning on making a really big tapestry from an alpha pattern, but I don't know how much string I need. Does anyone have an estimate of how many skeins I need per number of knots in that color? Like should I have one skein for like 100 knots in that color, or more?

I recommend knotting a test swatch and measuring how much string you need for a certain amount of knots. One skein usually is 8m long, so you should be able to calculate how many knots can be made by one skein. I also recommend to measure how long a certain amount of rows is, so you know how long the base strings need to be.Since everyone knots a little different, it's best if you take your own measurements 🙂 |

Hey there, normally your base string need to be about 2-3 in longer than the irl tapestry length. do your leading strings about a wing spands length because you can always add more.
