Hi I am VERY new to this but really enjoying it so far! I wanted to try making an alpha and starting with a loop and two triangles. The pattern I am trying has 13 base strings and when I add the background string it makes 14. When I tried to make the triangles to start that left me with 7 strings. How do I make a neat looking triangle with odd numbers? thank you!

With 7 strings you do-one knot over all strings -three knots over (1)(5)(1) or (3)(1)(3) strings -five knots over (1)(1)(3)(1)(1) or (2)(1)(1)(1)(2) strings If you are using the triangle ends technique you would use for normal bracelets, you need to make the triangle ends so one edge has 4 strings and the other edge has 3 strings. You could also do two half triangles with only one edge of 7 strings each. If you paste this into the normal pattern generator, you can see what a triangle end with 3 strings on one edge and 4 on the other looks like 0,f,0 f,f,0 f,f,f f,f,f |
