DMC and Prism are both good string brands. Another thing n e that I found on amazon was called Le Paon. It is very inexpensive, it is high quality, and has a HUGE selection of colors

I believe that there are several forums already that talk about color combinations as well as good websites for finding color combinations. I would check those out first
