Ok hey so I’ve been making bracelets for a while now but recently every time I’ve been doing it, my fingers HURT. Like when I knot, it burns and I don’t understand why since I’ve been knotting bracelets like this all the time. Does anyone know what to do about it? Like how tight is too tight for your bracelets? thx sm

it might be because of your tention/ how much you have been knotting in a day. ive heard from alex's innovations she uses athletic tape on her fingers to stop them from hurting. but i would mainly reccomend taking a break for a little while if you can.

@rumaisa it's completely nomal that the knots tilt in an alpha bracelet but if you are unhappy with it, I recommend experimenting with the angle you hold your strings at while knotting.

@halokiwi oh ok when I knot, to tighten it I put the leading sting up and pull to tighten it but I fell like that make th em ot stilted but I’ve seen some YouTubers knitting that way so I thought it was right? But thanks for the help! ☺️

@rumaisa it's definitely not wrong to do. Knots tilting is like I said very normal. I was just saying that you could try to change the angle slightly if it's bothering you and maybe that will make the knots straighter. You got to experiment with that 🙂

I had a hyper fixation on making bracelets for about a month during the summer, and I had been knotting for WEEKS Straight to where it was painful and I could not move my fingers at all. I know it’s kind of hard, but the best thing to do is take time and try not to use your fingers as much. I also saw that somebody recommended athletic tape, but also Band-Aids would work, or if you’re feeling crafty, tape a cotton ball around your finger lol 😂

I’m allergic to adhesive so I can’t use bandaids or tapes to protect my fingers and I DEFINITELY get sore, callused, fingers when I make bracelets. The best thing I’ve used so far is Coban/Self adhesive wrap is amazing! It’s a little too grippy at first but if you use a white towel and grab/squeeze/or gently rub the wrap on it the lint will take some of that grip away. If you have sores or cuts you can cover them with this or hydrocolloid bandages and the string won’t irritate the wound further.

I found finger protectors at the dollar store, depending on where on your fingers it hurts that might not help though. Otherwise I would reccomend using tape, the only annoying thing about tape though is that it doesn't last very long.
