I would love to start a wallhanging…but to be honest, I don’t know where to start! What the are supplies that I would need? I’ve seen that some people use yarn but I’m not sure. ANY help would be appreciated! Thank you!!

hey! so do you want your wallhanging to start with triangle ends? if not i would recommend getting some wooden dowels. i personally have just used embroidery floss (ive also seen other people do it). let me know if you have any questions.

@ellas30 I would be using wooden dowels. But, the problem that I am running into is that the pattern that I wanna make is super big and would require sooooo much floss. And, I kinda don't wanna use that much floss lol 😂

You could get crochet thread (I use dmc petra thread in size 5) for your base strings. It comes in larger balls, and it is overall cheaper than using embroidery floss as base strings

@ellas30 I was thinking of making #44039 but I think that would be too big/hard for a beginning wallhanging…I was hoping to find something easy yet fun as well.

I've made a few wall hangings. and I've made pretty beginner patterns (in my opinion). For choosing patterns I just went with something around 30 to 40 base strings with few colors at the same time. I've found this a good strategy. I do really recommend #41467 and #42522
