I use DMC etoile, I get it from Hobby Lobby, but you can buy it on Amazon.

You can buy them online. People usually buy them in craft stores and they’re either sold separately or in packs but there are some people who buy really thin crochet yarn and use that instead because some of those yarns are sparkly and there’s a lot more yarn so it’s great for making alphas or bigger projects.
