could you maybe post some pictures or sent them as ur pfp for a little bit so that others can see why they’re not “good looking”. and have you started with the basic chevron or arrowhead?

In my experience it just takes time. My first bracelets were not very pretty but I Kept going trying new techniques and just never giving up. Also try not to compare your bracelets to all the ones you see on here. Some users have been doing this for years, while you're just starting. I know you been on here for 5 months and while that is a long time, I know for me at least, I didn't start to make consistently good bracelets till my second year and even now, sometimes I feel my edges should be straighter or something like that. So just keep going. new skills take time 👍

It's like everyone else said, it takes time! Being consistent is also super important - If I only do alphas for a while and then try to make a normal bracelet I tend to lose some of the technique. It helps to go super slowly as well, trust the process! Take time to understand your knotting style, especially w tension etc. There's always room for progress 😄

Also some simple patterns you can try are - #2620 #2610 #7540 #7543 #9765 - they're pretty thin so they're good for practice and then you can work your way up to wider bracelets! 😊

Aloha 🙂,I totally get the lack of motivation! I forgot I even had an account here. 🤦🏽♀️ Since my cancer returned, I rediscovered why I fell in love with bracelet making and embroidery thread (I love the way the skeins feel 🙈). It is soothing and challenging at the same time. The creativity here by so many is insanely (beyond) good. It gives me something to focus on and pass on to my nieces (my children don’t get it 😂 ). My Grandma was my biggest inspiration and she’s the reason this is one of my greatest loves. I do hope you’ll rediscover your own way also. My best to you! 😊 |
