You technically don’t have to because if someone posts a pattern on this website, then they’re agreeing for it to be used by anyone. You can ask just to be polite, but you most likely won’t be told that you can’t use a pattern.

You don’t have to- anything put on the site is here for you to use. I am planning on starting selling bracelets in the new year, and I have asked permission just in case. It’s just a personal preference, you won’t get in trouble for not asking.
