Does segment knotting make the pattern look neater than doing row by row or is it just personal preference?

I've done patterns both row by row / segment knotting and they both came out pretty neat so I think it's up to you which you prefer. For me, segment knotting helps with speed, and sometimes it can help control how the pattern shape turns out, specifically with diamonds and X shapes 😊

Hi, row by row is very time consuming and I think harder to do. Segment knotting makes it easier to just do the pattern clearly and it’s faster. It depends on you though.

Hi, I always segment knot unless the pattern is a 1 2 pattern, i just think going row by row takes more time. There will be some patterns that will have straighter edges etc. so going row by row will be better. hope this helps!! |

Personally I prefer segment knotting simply because it's faster so you can make more things but row-by-row can make things look better depending on the pattern, you might get straighter edges, more even endings, etc. but the difference is hardly noticeable most of the time. Sorry if that's confusing, hope that helps!!

honestly depends on the type, row by row for more complicated stuff, segment when possible is how i do it, but some people can’t really make one or the other look nice/there is a more noticeable different
