You might be pulling too hard on your strings or the strings rub too much against each other while knotting. It could also simply be the quality of the strings. If you want to know how to fix broken base strings, here is a video: https://youtu.be/K47ogYsEpyw |

I’ve noticed that older string breaks easier, and that the farther I am into a project, the easier strings break. For me, holding the string closer to where the knot will be tends to help prevent it

you can also try doing the alpha color switch if that happens

OMG YES it's the absolute worst!! It happened like 10 times with a specific brand I had so I had to stop using it.

I pull very tight and my strings do not break so it could just be the thread you are using. When I used prism or anything from dollarama my strings would snap. I would recommend embroidery floss which you can buy in bulk on Amazon or dmc thread is my fave

Sometimes cheap quality threads snap easier.

Hello! Your string could be snapping because the string is to old. Sometimes when you use older string it wears down and breaks. Or it could just be the quality of the string. I recommend using the brand "Loops and Thread". Hope this helps!!
