Does someone here work with wax threads? I did a macrame bracelet (the spiral one) with a charm in the middle and I'm really contemplating on how to close it. I use to pull the threads inside the knots and burn it but it showed and I didn't like it. Any other ways to do it or other closing solution?

Mostly wax threads work for simple macrame bracelets, if you want to try the patterns here on BraceletBook, then I would highly recommend using embroidery floss or regular string. Hope this helped 😊 @Love_Fox2

@ts3dancer that's not what I ment 😄 I do use regular thread for the patterns here (you can check out my stuff if you'd like 😊) but I want to start making sets of bracelets and I added macrame with charms to the set. I was just wandering what is the best way to close it.

I saw you are doing shaped ends on your regular bracelets. I think they should work nicely on macrame bracelets too.

I don't have any experience with waxed thread so idk.

@halokiwi what I'm afraid about this is that the wax thread is thicker than regular so the braids I do at the end might be thick and uncomfortable to tie around the loop. Or the knot will be big and might be unpleasant on the wrist. But maybe worth to try 🤷‍♀️

Ah, that makes sense

I have two suggestions
- you could make several ties instead of just one on each side. This way the individual ties aren't super thick.
- I recently forgot a string in a normal bracelet and managed to sneak it in at a later point using a similar technique to the flat alpha technique, maybe you can figure out something similar
