@Smooshy yea and cut it a couple of centimetres longer than how wide the bracelet would be and do the same thing you would with the dowel. then glue the excess string to the back of it

instead of tying lark's head knots onto a dowel, you could do it onto a single string! it could be a little unstable, but I think it might work. hope this helps! ❤️

I haven't actually attempted such a big project, but if you use a straw (and it's long enough to hold all your threads), you can cut any excess and put a string through it after you finish the project to hang it.
