I just finished an alpha bracelet and I do not know how to make the ties.

Separate the strings into two equal groups. Twist each individual group in the same direction and then twist both groups together in the opposite direction.

Also, adding onto @halokiwi , I just wanna point out that you can do braided ties! You just split the strings into two equal groups and then separate those groups into three equal sections and then braid it. It comes out so cool! I totally recommend that you try it!
