Un even square/diamond

So I'm doing a pattern that starts off with a diamond that is even. I did a shaped start(triangle) and the diamond is tall on top half and bottom. Is short.. |

Hmm.. Are you segment knotting? I find that when I'm segment knotting sometimes if I'm not careful the knot tension will vary causing my diamonds to be odd shapes. To combat this you could go row by row in the sections with the diamonds, which I don't like to do. Or you could tighten up your knots at the top / loosen at the bottom of the diamond and that should even it out for you. Lmk if you need more help 🙂
