So, I discovered a kind of hole in a bracelet I made AFTER I had completed it, tied the ends, etc. and I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to fix such holes. Please share if you do!In my specific case, the hole was caused, I think, by my missing a knot and not realising it. It's not super noticeable, but it bothers me a bit because I know it's there. |

hi! ok so the problem is that you're "pulling the strings incorrectly" 🙂 i am not 100% sure how to fix it if you made it already, but to avoid getting holes again try to knot more tighter knots, hold your strings firm try not to pull your bracelet!❤️ Hope this helps!

I think you skipped a string by accident. To my knowledge I don't think there is any way to fix the hole unless you put something on the back of your bracelet such as felt but I feel like that would be more noticeable. Since you already finished the bracelet I would suggest remaking it because undoing knots takes a long time. 😉

HI @stilesS58; naw, it's because I just missed a string/tying a knot on one string. But fortunately, it's just one knot that's missing.

@stilesS58 I sure hope so. Lol. Moral of the story: do not knot late into the night. 😂

Depends on the size of the hole. I one time sewed a lil bit of string on an alfa where the hole was to "cover" for the fact that I missed a base string in 1 place for 1 row. For me, it worked out well, but it was VERY difficult to do in my opinion, and frankly not worth doing it again (I'm not patient enough, because the result itself was good in the end). That being said, maybe that is something you would consider? I haven't seen the size though, but if your friend says it is not that obvious you can truly consider leaving it like that! I'm sure it look great anyway 😊

my sister made a hole in one and she noticed it before she finished but you would have to unravel the knots all the way to the hole if you wanted to fix it or what they said someone said sewing that sounds like a good idea!

@Karo-H How did you sew up that hole? Did you just make a stitch across the hole?

Made a loop, to make it look more authentic like it was a knot, the pushed it through from the underside until it was at the same level as the other knots and secured it to the backside. Lots of work and it looks okay-ish but not 100% fixed ofcourse.

Yeah, you'd have to undo everything and go back, I've had that happen on more than one occasion. Try not to stress, no one else will notice it. Also there's a thing I read that you knot a piece of your soul in your work and leaving an imperfection let's that piece of your soul escape. It helps keep me from going back too much. And imperfections is the charm of being hand made!
