If you look at photos under pattern #24433 you will see some creations using what look like plastic beads. Does anyone know what these are and how they hold together?

They are made using perler beads. The pattern is made and ironed.

@aiden707, thanks so much for clarifying. I'd like to know more, and will look it up.

They hold together by applying heat usually with an iron which makes them melt slightly and stick together. To avoid them sticking to the iron, you have to put a sheet of baking paper between the iron and the beads. To avoid melting the plastic pin boards on which you make your design, you can transfer your design onto tape before ironing it. They're a common childhood craft but I have also seen adults who make very impressive big works with them.
