Can i save an alpha pattern if i accidentally cut a base string

i may or may not have accidentaly cut a base string for an alpha pattern. i really want to save it but I am not sure how to. can anyone give me any tips of how to save it? thanks<3

what i'd do is i'd just tape a new base string to the back of the alpha, where the other base string got cut, and tuck the cut string up behind the bracelet. then in the next row, just go over the new string instead of the old base string. then after a few rows i'll normally flip over the alpha and tie the two strings together (the end of the string that you cut, and the tail of the string you put to replace it). i hope this helped!
