Why can't there be similar colors in patterns?

I was making a pattern, but it said that my pattern couldn't have similar colors. I was just wondering why. The pattern I am making wouldn't look right without multiple different shades of the same color. I'm not trying to be difficult or anything, just wondering why.Thanks to anyone who helps! 😘 |

it’s just hard for the person to read it. when colors are too similar, ppl w very often get mixed up with knots.

@Roswitt Oh. I just wanted to know because I have some patterns that I really want to submit but I can't. But I thought that I could since I have seen patterns with colors that look very similar.

maybe try making the colors more different when u submit it and then when it’s accepted write a note in the comments.

There are different kinds of automated warnings.Yellow warnings make it impossible to submit the pattern. That is for example the case when you have identical colours or very similar colours. There are also green warnings. In that case you can submit the pattern if you are sure that it is alright. The generator isn't perfect. Sometimes when it says that colours are too similar, they're actually alright. If you think that is the case, I recommend writing it into the review notes, for example "I think that colour A and B are different enough". The moderator reviewing your pattern will know that you actually thought about it (there seem to be many people who ignore warnings or decline messages) and consider if the colours are too close together or not. Usually small changes are sometimes already enough to eliminate warnings. But sometimes it just doesn't seem possible. I recently made a pattern with pink clothing, blonde hair and light skin. Those are all colours that the generator tends to recognise as too similar. Sometimes you really can't avoid submitting a pattern with warnings. |
