I believe @Margaron has an exact formula, but I usually just spread my arms out all the way and use that as a measurement. I usually fold it in half after doing that.

if you are doubling it, it will be 1 and a half wingspan, or longer.... I hoe this helps! ❤️

On normal patterns measure out from one tip of your fingers to the other hand (your wingspan)

I sure do have a formula if you’re really pressed on having the exact amount but generally I do like most- wingspan folded in half 😊
