Hey, all, didn't think I'd be back here so soon. One quick thing: which types of knots do you have to work with frequently enough for them to be worth mastering? Thanks!

I’d say you need to master forward knots, backward knots, forward-backward, backward-forward and maybe square knots

Yeah, you definitely need the four basic knots. I guess you could also just master f and b knots or fb and bf knots. With both pairs individually you can already do many nice patterns, but it's best to know all four.

Another useful knot is the larks head knot but that one really isn't complicated at all. You use it to attach strings to a dowel or to a keyring.
