Hi, I was wondering if there is a way I could see the numbers of knots vertically? I always lose count and it messes up my alphas a lot. Just so it would be easier to count how many colors I need in that specific row. Thanks !

I'm not exactly sure what you are asking but if i am reading correctly then you can just count the rows and that should tell you how many rows you have done.

I struggle with this too, when I make alphas I try to take a break/stop for the day in a very distinct spot of the pattern like when a new color gets added for the row I just finished.

@indie try using a ruler and count by row! 🙈

1) stop at obvious places in your pattern. Likeif you have an animal pattern stop when you reach its ear or the outline etc.2) stop at round numbers. Like do 10 rows that evening, and 10 the next day. 3) POST-IT's! Seriously, it helps. Write down whag row you are on and stick it to your bracelet! |

I've been trying different ways to make this easier on myself too. I've found that having a ton of safety pins is really helpful in remembering where you picked up and left off knotting, so I'd finish one row right when I pick up the bracelet and stick the safety pin right between the first one you just did and the last one before your break! As for reading the pattern on the website or app and translating that into knotting, while knotting I'd say to take notes of what row you just finished and put in a safety pin even while you're still knotting just to keep track. Maybe every 10 rows or so to make it easy. And if you don't have pins or something to write on you can always just look for very specific markers on the bracelet such as outlines, eyes, certain color changes, things like that. Or I'd say you could even use tape and put it above certain rows, but the you can't see your last few rows so it's kinda a pick your battles type of thing lol. I hope this helps! You can pm me anytime if you need anything else 🙂

I always leave off knotting on the end of the row, so when I pick my project back up, I’m starting a new row. You can write the next 3-10 lines in a notes app if that helps you remember how many knots are needed in each color, like this: Row 5 - 3 White, 4 Bright blue, 7 red, 2 white. You can also section out your strings before knotting a new row, so once you are done with that section you know it’s time to switch
