I just started making bracelets and I have people who wants to buy some from me. I want to have ample amount of string and want to be able to get single colors when needed instead of having to buy a multipack for one or two colors or a bunch of bundles of floss of the color I need. I see yarn has all kind of color shades plus bits of metallic in some. The common size I see in yarn is size 4 medium. Would that work to make normal bracelets? Crochet thread #5 only has few colors in my craft store and really want teals and coral colors plus the sparkle yarn. Prefer to buy in person than online.

yarn would work fine, just make sure it is not too big! ive seen lots of bracelet makers use alize forever/alize simli (all variations based off of alize yarn), that you can get pretty cheaply from etsy (shipping is slightly expensive depending on where you live, because most people that sell the alize yarn ive seen are based in ukraine). alize yarn has sparkly thread too, which ive seen some creators use in their bracelets!

Depends on what yarn if it’s thinner and not fluffy I think it would be good

I had a bunch of cones of weaving yarn left from a past life. Among them I found some 5/2 pearl cotton in nice colors. 3/2 pearl cotton is a little bigger.

It depends what size. 5mm is too big for a bracelet I think but maybe a 3mm or 4mm? If you are looking for single skeins or embroidery floss, Michael’s has a big section of different colours of it and you can get just one colour. There’s also multicolour and sparkly threads there.
