dmc pearl cotton and regular embroidery thread together in a bracelet

have any of yall used dmc pearl cotton petra (or any pc thread) with regular embroidery thread/floss in an alpha or normal bracelet? does it work fine, or should i stick to making bracelets with the same brand of thread?

So pearl cotton is significantly thicker than regular 6-strand embroidery thread. It would definitely distort an alpha, but the distortion will be less noticeable in a normal.

Oh, I've used it a lot too! It works great if all your strings are size 5 pc, but if you mix size 5 pc with six strand embroidery thread it distorts the pattern. I knot rather tightly, it might be less noticeable if you are a loose knotter?

@Genki yeah if you’re a looser knotter, then what happens is you can use a ruler to sorta smash all the knot into a straight row. you can do that as well with tighter knots.

@Rowsitt Yeah, I do that 😄 I don't have any problem keeping my alphas even. I really feel it's an unavoidable problem when you use two different thicknesses of thread, but if it somehow works for you that's great. I was answering based on my experience using DMC size 5 pearl cotton in conjunction with DMC six strand embroidery thread which seemed to be what the OP was asking about. I appreciate the offer of advice though.
