Save and Test Problem

So, I'm using the draw part to make my alpha pattern and I input what is needed and pressed the button, but the results aren't what I was expecting.I have this image I wanna make a wall hanging of, Tobi from Naruto. I did a few attempts and got colors I don't like and it looks weird. I even did the draw image thing and did my cleanest job to recreate the image where you can clearly tell where the colors are, but when I use the screenshot of the grided image (which I'd think would be super simple for it to understand)(also used same options before pressing save and test), it didn't work either. Main point is... how do I get the colors I want and the pixel colors to match my image I'm using? 😢 |

hey there is a option of alpha from image where you can upload your images and then it will turn it into an alpha for you or you can just use similar colours and the ones you use in real life will be the ones you want but the colours don't have to be exact

Hi, you need to tweak the pattern in "draw alpha" after using "alpha from image". You can edit the colours in "alpha".Here are some tutorials that might help https://www.braceletbook.com/tutorials/74_how-to-tweak-patterns/ https://www.braceletbook.com/tutorials/120_making-better-outlines-for-alpha-patterns/ |

Sorry, but those links you put didn't help.I am not gonna bother with doing the other things as it is a big hassle. I will try to get it to work on the alpha section, although it will be hard cuz of the letters. The letters are harder to visualize than squares, but it looks like the safest bet to get what I'm allowing for. I am starting to get the hang of it abit, but it'll take me a while, so I'll work on it little by little, so it won't stress me out. Thx anyways for trying to help. 👍 |

You can switch around between the different pages of the generator like "draw alpha" and "alpha etc and use the advantages of each one.How I understood you, you got your pattern to work but you just did not get the colours to work. |

To get the exact colours I recommend going to a website that let's you pick colours from the image and copy those colour codes and paste them into the generator. If you put a link to the image that you want to turn into an alpha maybe I can give you some advice or maybe even create a pattern for you |

Below is the link of the pic I used. Although, since I know it'll be too big, I had first cropped the pic to alittle bit below the cloud symbol, but that was too big. Next, I cropped it to half his mask at the line where it is between his hair going one way and the other way(W wise), plus just abit below his shoulders(H wise). That was also too big as it says so, so I cropped it once again and shortened the height (it was 150H) to 100H and it said that is fine, so end result is 67Wx100H. With that new one, it went from abit below his shoulders to showing abit of his cloak that goes around his neck with the same half mask thing.I will try to do the letter thing for the pattern myself, but it would be greatly appreciated if you made me a pattern too anyways. 😊 https://www.google.com/search?q=akatsuki+tobi&hl=en&tbm=isch&sxsrf=AOaemvLf8KFBAF70FRyjayVXxgoN0l_Whg%3A1630159559115&source=hp&ei=x0IqYdqPBMHw-wSGg4XYCA&oq=akatsuki+tibi&gs_lcp=ChJtb2JpbGUtZ3dzLXdpei1pbWcQARgBMgoIIxDvAxCwAhAnMgQIABANMgQIABANMgQIABANMgQIABANOgoIIxDvAxDqAhAnOgcIIxDvAxAnOgsIABCABBCxAxCDAToFCAAQgAQ6CAgAEIAEELEDOgYIABAIEB46BggAEAoQGFC3JliUX2DabGgCcAB4AIABqAGIAcEJkgEDMC45mAEAoAEBoAEFsAEF&sclient=mobile-gws-wiz-img#imgrc=4YLQB8WK2vgv9M |

The image you linked has a smaller resolution, so you can definitely use it in full. My recommendation for when you have a picture that you want to use in "alpha from image" that has a too big resolution is to lower the resolution instead of cropping it.How big would you like the pattern itself to be? There is an automated warning when a pattern has a dimension that is above 100, but if you have a reason why you want your pattern to be this big, that shouldn't be an issue. You just can't go above the dimensions 200x200 since that is the limit of the generator. |

Oh, and I also reread your post. After using "draw alpha" and clicking "safe", you can go to "alpha" directly and edit the colours there without needing to take an extra step over taking a screenshot and then using "alpha from image" on it 👍 |

Ideally, the whole pic, but I am fine with the just abit below the shoulders.Thx. That actually helps a whole lot. When I had to redo it, I used the draw image again as I had mistakenly tried to do the save and test again. So, I redid the pic with the draw image thing. Hope it works this time. Wish me luck it works. |

67W(which is half his mask. I like it like that)Would prefer all H of pic, but if not, then the 150H(which is the cutting off the shoulders) |

So, I tried to submit it and it says I didn't check the box below. I did and it says the colors I chose are too dark. The main dark color is gray. Next, there is black, but it isn't as much as the dark gray. Help~. 😢 |

By the way, do you want me to give you the colors?I had written them down when I was doing the draw thing on here. |

In the automated warning you can see which colour is too dark. If it says A is too dark that means the first colour in colours used is too dark.

The colour code 333333 is recommended as a replacement for black because it looks almost black but isn't too dark.

I'll use the colours you described. I think it is not necessary for me to use the exact same colours you used, because you'll still be able to read the pattern even with slightly different colors

I tried 333333, but it was too similar to the dark gray I used (32322e).I checked and 0f0f0f fits more to my liking. Is that color ok? |

No, I think that will probably be too dark but you can try playing around with the colours. There are different kinds of automated warnings. Ones that will let you submit a pattern (green) and ones that won't (yellow). It's always best to have the least amount of warnings for a better chance of the pattern getting accepted. |
