When a pattern requires 4 colors and 11 strings in total, how much i cut of each color? This is confusing me for the past hour 😿😿

@neeth34 is there a specific pattern that you're doing? i think i would be able to help you more if i could see the pattern. if not, i generally cut the strings about the length of my wingspan.

For a normal pattern I think I usually cut my strings about 90cm (from the tip of my left hand to my right shoulder). If it's a string I fold in half for the loop, then of course I double the length. I usually end up with lots of string left over but sometimes if a colour gets used a lot, that will still be too short.

I recommend to look at the pattern and check if all strings are used equally as much. If you have lots of knots in one colour, then you need a bit more of that colour.

For alphas it is best to not cut the leading strings you are using and just using the whole skein and cutting them in the end.

If there is an outline, I would cut a wingspan and two-six more feet. If there are only a few dots, I would cut half a wingspan.
