How can I hide the ends of strings that are in the middle of alphas? If I just cut them off then it unravels but if I knot them it looks weird.

I leave them long and braid them into the braided ties at the ends of the bracelets.

When you make alphas the back won't look clean. However you can always add felt to the back or use the clean alpha back technique. The tails of strings you add into the bracelet should only pop out from the back which you can then cut.

If this is what you mean -When the strings are a bit long on the back I cut them relatively short then get glue or clear nail varnish and just seal them down

What if they’re on the side?

Oh yeah they’re harder when they’re on the side but I still just pull them in and glue it too the back but also where possible avoid. CHanging string in the edges of that makes any sense at all

Before cutting the string ends in the back, knot a few rows. (I'm not sure if this actually helps or if I just think it does 😅.) Then you can cut the ends relatively close to the bracelet and they shouldn't come undone. The flat alpha technique might also be beneficial for this. You could also try using the clean back alpha technique which is a technique where you have no loose strings in the back. It's basically an extension of the flat alpha technique where all loose leading strings are hidden inside the knots. There are tutorials on YouTube and also one in the tutorial section https://www.braceletbook.com/tutorials/142_clean-back-alpha/ |
